Letters: Richman's column can be taken a step further
Jun 9, 2009
Dear Editor,
Take Richman's column on profit a step further
Marty Richman's column of June 2 could have gone one step further when he defended 'profit' as not a dirty word. Without profit, there would be no wages. Without profit and wages, there would be no taxes. Without taxes, there would be no government.
With that train of thought, it would be to everyone's benefit if our local, county, state, and federal governments would reduce the odorous regulations that hinder commerce and reduce individual liberties. There could be more profit, more wages, and more taxes even at a lower tax rate! That would be a win-win combination.

Dear Editor,
Why take a gun into a national park?
Seems Congressmen Sam Farr was in the minority on the Vote No Guns In National Parks. Why would anyone want to take a gun into a national park? This is why they were established in the first place. They are the last sacred sanctuary left where no gun are allowed on the planet.
