After four days of golf, a field of 84 golfers was narrowed down last weekend at the PGA Tour's Qualifying Tournament, also known as Q-School, where a select 24 players graduated from stage one at the San Juan Oaks Golf Club in Hollister.

Brady Stockton of Cave Creek, Ariz., finished first overall with an 18-under 270 (67-66-69-68), and was two strokes better than runner-up finisher Troy Kelly of La Quinta. Kelly carded a 16-under 272 (65-66-70-71) to place second.

Only those who finished in the top 24, plus all ties, advanced to stage two of Q-School - a three-stage event that will eventually award just 35 golfers from across the country with their PGA Tour cards.

While there are as many as six different courses hosting stage two of Q-School, the third and final stage of Q-School will be held Dec. 3-8 at the PGA West Nicklaus Tournament Course and the TPC Stadium Course in La Quinta, Calif.

Of the 24 that advanced to stage two from San Juan Oaks, 14 hailed from California, including James Hahn of Alameda (-15, 273), Blaine Staggs of San Diego (-14, 274), Brian Smock of San Diego (-11, 277), Carlos Corona of Dublin (-10, 278), Matt Marshall of Saratoga (-10, 278), Dillon Dougherty of Woodland (-9, 279), Kenny Kim of Cerritos (-9, 279), Jeff Wood of Sacramento (-9, 279), Jeremy Tucker of San Diego (-8, 280), Eric Meichtry of Murrieta (-8, 280), Travis Bertoni of Paso Robles (-8, 280), Keith Huber of Fresno (-8, 280) and Nick Manfre of Corralitos (-8, 280).
